Quotes- Passion

All humanity is passion; without passion, religion, history, novels, art would be ineffectual.
-Honore de Balzac

Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
-Gil Bailie

Poverty of purpose is far worse than poverty of purse.
-Anonymous

Your work is going to fill a large part of your life and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet keep looking and don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart you’ll know when you find it… So keep looking don’t settle.
-Steve Jobs 2005 commencement address

Passion is something hard to define. For me it brings up mental images of fire. It consumes everything around it. Scientifically there is a state of intense focus and creativity that an individual can achieve when one does something he is intently engaged in. I try to cultivate these moments in my life as much as possible. We’re inspired by great people because they have taken a passion and applied it to a craft be that athletics, business, or love. It’s a significant thread on the canvas of a successful life. Without it we have blasé mediocrity and no one falls in love with/wants/dies for that.
